‘Humanity’s Greatest Threat in Thousands of Years’
Sir David Attenborough has taken the ‘People’s Seat’ at the United Nations climate change talks in Poland and opened with a dramatic warning.
The renowned broadcaster said: “Right now, we are facing a man-made disaster of global scale. Our greatest threat in thousands of years. Climate change.
“If we don’t take action, the collapse of our civilisations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.”
In an unprecedented move, four former UN climate talks presidents also issued a statement, calling for urgent action. “Decisive action in the next two years will be crucial,” they said.
