What is the OZEV EVHS grant and how can I claim?

The government are changing the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), to the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV). This change is following the government announcement in November 2020, regarding the transition to zero-emission vehicles by 2035, to move towards the net zero by 2050 target. There will also be a ban on selling new petrol or diesel vehicles, except for particular vehicles classed as ‘hybrids’, providing that low emissions are exerted from the vehicle after travelling a long distance.

Electric vehicles have an array of benefits; not only are they much kinder to our environment in comparison to fuelled vehicles, they’re cheaper to run, maintain, and give you a smoother and quieter drive. Not to mention that we are an OZEV-approved installer and will make the installation of your charging point as seamless as possible for you. The future of driving is electric as technology is ever-changing and developing!

OZEV EVHS grant

The grant allows you to save up to £350 off the purchase and installation of an electric vehicle charging unit at your property and can be declared on most electric vehicles that are around today. You can claim one charger for your home for every electric/plug-in vehicle and up to two vehicles per household. This grant isn’t applicable to all vehicles so it is important to check you fit the criteria, you must also ensure that your home charger is fitted by an OZEV-approved installer.

Before applying for the OZEV EVHS grant, you need to make sure you are eligible based on the requirements. Here is what you need to fulfil to apply for the grant:
