The Tesla app’s new “go off-grid” button now lets you isolate your power and aggregate your own energy ecosystem, completely removing your reliance on the grid.
Following the energy crisis last year. planned brownouts are becoming more common, making energy self-reliance a necessity.
Other updates include improving the way Tesla solar and Powerwall owners view their solar power generation. The new layout highlights data points such as peak times of power use, solar offset and power usage distribution.
Energy data can now be downloaded, letting users better track their usage in a spreadsheet or input into another system.
Tesla is looking at opening up the app and their electric vehicle Supercharger network to non-Tesla product owners, and so the app update includes a better integration of the Supercharger system.
