Solar PV: Five Oak Green, Kent, Mr T
We recently installed this 28 Panel Off-Grid Solar PV System for Mr T in Five Oak Green in Kent.
The customer required an electricity supply out to a new stable block and barn. As there was no local transformer an Off Grid System was designed to power the smallholding throughout the year without the need for a backup generator.
The 7kWp PV system was mounted on the barn roof. Being controlled via a Sunny Island control unit which determines the PV output which helps to protect the batteries.
The storage was made up of 8 x 190Ah Enersys PowerSafe batteries, enough to keep the block running for days between charges.
