Case Study: Solar and Battery Installation, Tunbridge Wells, Kent – Mr Parrish

TLGEC case study cover image mr Parrish

Project Overview

Mr Parrish wanted to lower his energy bills in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. He chose the Little Green Energy Company over larger brands for our personal touch.

After speaking to us directly, he was also impressed with our technical abilities.

Scaffolding is used to help safely and securely install solar panels.

This green energy project was completed in October 2026. It included 15 SunPower panels, a Tesla Powerwall Battery and a backup battery.

Property-specific Challenges

We designed and installed a system bespoke for Mr Parrish’s home. It included nearly half (6 out of 15) of the solar panel installation being on a flat section of the roof (something not all solar providers are able to work with).

Not all solar panel installers are able to install panels on flat roofs.

Our design stage took into account the full shading study to check energy levels. This ensured the system would work well for many years.

The solar battery storage (including backup) was tidily installed inside in the garage.

The Solution

After surveying Mr Parrish’s property, we designed and installed 15 SunPower Performance 7 solar panels onto his roof. These deliver strong output even in low light.

SunPower is one of the world’s leading solar panel manufactures and has been named one of the world’s most sustainable companies.

We completed the DNO process and delivered the full handover pack on completion.

We also installed protection against birds on our system. This prevents the panels and surrounding fittings from being damaged by nesting birds and other animals.

It also protects the birds from the risks associated with being electrocuted, overheated or getting trapped.

Mr Parrish’s home now has an estimated annual supply of 7,330 kWh of green energy.

We installed a Tesla PowerWall Battery and Tesla Backup Gateway2.

The former handles the storage of solar energy for reliable daily use. The later acts as a command centre, quickly disconnecting the home from the grid in the event of a power cut.

The Gateway2 allows the battery to keep the lights on even if the rest of the street is in the dark.

Customer Feedback

Mr P left us a review on Google, which read:

“Great customer service coupled with friendly knowledgeable staff.
We’re more competitive than the “pink cephalopod” for our 15 panel PV setup, with Tesla Powerwall & expansion pack. We’re also able to install solar onto a flat roof, which not all PV companies can do.
Thank you!”
