TLGEC Renewable Energy: Solar PV, Battery Storage & EV Charging in Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London & Surrounding Areas

Energy Prices Rise Again with British Gas

According to a recent BBC Report, from 1st October, the average gas bill will now rise by 3.8% with British Gas and this means that the average bill will rise by £44 to a yearly cost of £1,205 for British Gas customers.

This is their second price rise this year! They blame wholesale energy prices rising. As do other large energy companies such as Eon, Npower and EDF.

“We understand that any price increase adds extra pressure on customers’ household bills. However, this reflects the sharp rise in wholesale energy costs,” said Mark Hodges, chief executive of Centrica’s consumer arm.

Mr Hodges said that they are trying to focus on fixed-price deals for their 3.5 million customers rather than the SVT.

Ms Neill, Managing director of the consumer group, Which? said “people should take the power back into their own hands”.

One way to take the power back into your own hands is to shop around and find a cheaper supplier.

Another way is to generate your own energy using Solar PV and store your own energy using Battery Storage, so you are less affected by the big energy providers’ price hikes!
